Abbey Communication Newsletter – April 2014

David WoodNews

Spring has arrived in Malmesbury, the blossom is out and the sun is shining (well most of the time!).

Course participants continue to come to Abbey Communication with a wide range of Business English training needs. Recently we’ve helped participants prepare for sales presentations, speaking at conferences, quality audits, production visits and other critical business events. We have also welcomed participants from a new client, KDFeddersen, in the last few weeks. In the photo you can see Patrick, our first visitor from KDFeddersen, receiving his certificate at the end of his course.

Trainer Development

We believe strongly in Continuous Professional Development and Continuous Improvement. Our training team recently participated in a workshop focused on increasing challenge for more advanced learners and creating frequent opportunities for course participants to recycle new language.

Next month our trainers will receive training in Coaching Skills for Trainers from Alex, who is qualified in Coaching and Action Learning Facilitation and will be sharing her experience from running leadership and management development programmes.

New Projects

We continue to build relationships with new clients and have recently begun working with UAB Idiomes, the languages service at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. We hope to promote each other’s language programmes. This is part of a wider project to develop links with some of our European partners to offer immersion courses in other languages.

Our new qualification, Certificate in International Communication, accredited by International Management Centres Association, is ready for release. If you would like to add a post-graduate level qualification to your CV, please contact us for more information.

Film crew

Last week our course participants kindly agreed to take part in some filming. We are making a video of Malmesbury and our training. It will also include shots of lunchtime and dinner in our favourite pubs. The film crew followed Aurélie from Autoneum enjoying dinner and breakfast with her host family, in training at our training centre and at our Thursday night dinner. We’re looking forward to sharing the end product with you. You’ll see a few familiar faces and places.

As you all know social media is becoming an increasingly important way to communicate, so please follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Look out too for the Abbey Communication Alumni LinkedIn group which will start next month.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone and we hope to see you all again soon.
