Earlier this month we were delighted to welcome Julie Descamps to Malmesbury for a week of immersion training. Julie originally contacted Abbey Communication via a former course participant because she was looking for help to draft her CV in English.
She later applied to join us on the scholarship Abbey Communication set up in memory of Michael Foley, one of our longest-standing hosts who sadly died last year. As the successful candidate, she benefited from a week’s English training and accommodation with one of our host families in Malmesbury.
Julie will finish her Masters in Adult Training at the University of Lille later this year and hopes to start an international career where she will need English.
She received individual English training with a focus on her field of Learning and Development as well as working on her interview skills in English.
At Abbey Communication, coffee breaks, lunches and social evenings provide an opportunity for our course participants to share stories, experiences, opinions and the odd joke in English! Julie enjoyed these moments with Bernard and Pascal who had also joined us for immersion training that week.
Julie said the Abbey Communication team had been welcoming and attentive and she had found the training to be personalised to meet both her professional and personal needs.
We wish Julie every success in her future career.
